The Assistant Nurse Manager monitors and coordinates daily clinical operations within outpatient clinics to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care. This role provides professional nursing care to a defined patient population across various clinical settings while overseeing RNs, LPNs, MAs, and other patient care staff to uphold excellence in clinical practice. The Assistant Nurse Manager anticipates, identifies, and resolves patient care and personnel issues; participates in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of clinical staff; and contributes to annual performance evaluations and ongoing performance improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized and experienced nurse leader who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role requires exceptional clinical judgment, strong leadership and communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am—5:00pm. No holidays/weekends.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Oversees nursing personnel and patient care providers within the clinical setting.
Coordinates daily activities to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care.
Anticipates and resolves patient care and staffing issues.
Partners with the Clinical Manager to maintain annual staff competencies and support continuing education.
Performs RN Ambulatory duties as needed and collaborates with care coordinators to support seamless transitions of care.
Participates in and/or coordinates committees, task forces, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Attends and contributes to department leadership meetings.
Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety initiatives.
Assumes Clinical Manager responsibilities when required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Two years of recent RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Supervisory experience
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $73,840.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $112,112.00
