Job Description
The Materials Science Division (MSD) of Argonne National Laboratory is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral appointee in physics of colloidal systems. The postdoc is expected to conduct research on the dynamics of active self-assembled colloids. The research will include optical microscopy study of colloidal systems and liquid crystals under non-equilibrium conditions, fabrication of microfluidic chambers, design of experiments, image and data processing.
Position Requirements
Recent or soon-to-be-completed PhD with strong background in Physics or Materials Science (within the last 5 years)
Physics of colloidal systems; optical microscopy techniques
Optical microscopy
Image and data processing
Basic programing for experiments
Image and data processing/analysis

Full timeThe expected hiring range for this position is $72,879.00-$121,465.00.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs. Additionally, comprehensive benefits are part of the total rewards package.
