Job Description

The Materials Science Division (MSD) of Argonne National Laboratory is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral appointee in physics of colloidal systems. The postdoc is expected to conduct research on the dynamics of active self-assembled colloids. The research will include optical microscopy study of colloidal systems and liquid crystals under non-equilibrium conditions, fabrication of microfluidic chambers, design of experiments, image and data processing.

Position Requirements

  • Recent or soon-to-be-completed PhD with strong background in Physics or Materials Science (within the last 5 years)

  • Physics of colloidal systems; optical microscopy techniques

  • Optical microscopy

  • Image and data processing

  • Basic programing for experiments

  • Image and data processing/analysis

The expected hiring range for this position is $72,879.00-$121,465.00.
