The Role and Impact
The Accounting Technical Specialist role is responsible for acting as a technical advisor and drive transformation into best practices for Processes, Procedures and Policies for accounting and compliance activities across the Legal Entities around the world (Asia, Europe, Latin America) in Intel. The position focuses on technical accounting consultation and collaboration across global teams to ensure the accurate valuation, reporting, and compliance for Intel around the world. Your contributions will help shape Intel's future, driving operational excellence and enabling Finance's key objectives.
Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing work of entity accountants to deliver high quality, timely and value-added outputs to ensure Intel complies with all Accounting statutory requirements, laws and accounting standards. These may include auditor PBC lists, financial statements, monthly and quarterly close tasks, account fluctuation analysis, letter of representation, grants and incentives compliance and other government accounting submissions.
  • Act as a Technical advisor (Legal Entity specialist) to stakeholders and directors to manage various compliance matters to ensure we keep Intel Legal. Leveraging subject matter expertise and high technical knowledge competencies to partner with stakeholders for effective resolution of complex accounting issues relating to revenue recognitions, fixed assets, inventory, investments, compensation and benefits accounting. Conducts technical accounting research and prepares whitepapers and recommends proper accounting treatments.
  • Monitor upcoming regulations which may include ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), AMLA (Anti Money Laundering), new IFRS standards issued by IASB etc. Manages risks and controls by applying sound judgment and analysis.
  • Supporting transformation journey and continuous improvement projects and driving Innovation and best practice for Intel in Local Compliance Governance and Operations. Our transformation journey encompasses new local statutory books and systems upgrades, process driven standardizations and automations, driving future ready technical skillsets and end to end connected reporting. This may include scope such as statutory reporting, liquidations, legal entity restructures, US GAAP close packages etc.
  • Supporting Legal entity rationalization, elimination, liquidations and restructuring exercises to work on material and unique transactions and ensure alignment with US GAAP and local compliance implications.
  • Leading customer relationships - Ensuring engagement, value added insights and support to key stakeholders and partners across Intel Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Trade, Mergers and Acquisition, HR, Procurement, Corporate Services and other Intel Partners.
  • Support for SAP S4 system design and implementation solutions which may include local statutory process standardization and optimization to cater SAP S4 system
  • Other responsibilities may include supporting operational duties for the smooth running of the local statutory organization (budgeting, resource planning) and other ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Professional Degree in Accountancy.
  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA or equivalent).
  • Min 9 years of experience or more working in a global organization. External auditor experience or knowledge/ experience with SAP S4 is preferred/ an added advantage.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and Local GAAP as well as understanding of local laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skill, able to work independently and across various functional teams. Ability to effectively work across organizations and geographies with tolerance for high ambiguity.
  • Results driven and organizational savvy. Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Strong capability in financial systems will be an added advantage, including SAP, Local GAAP and Reporting systems.
  • Experience working in a shared service environment managing compliances in various countries in Asia, Europe and Latin America will be an added advantage.
