AsReprocessingEducator, you will plan and implement reprocessing education to caregiverswhilemaintaininga positive and professional environment. You will set standards and expectationsby emphasizing integrity through your conduct and work ethic, helping motivatepupilsthrough effective teaching methodologies.Ultimately, bydeveloping and delivering education that aligns with industry regulations and Cleveland Clinic’s rigorous quality expectations, you play a critical part in reducing surgical site infections, improving instrument processing efficiency and enhancing patient outcomes. A caregiver in this position worksdays from7:00 a.m. –4:00 p.m.at Florida Weston Hospital and will float toadditionalCCF hospitals as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Design, direct,implementand evaluateeducational offerings based on knowledge,skillsand learning levels of caregivers.
- Develop andutilizeappropriate evaluationstodeterminethe effectiveness of educational activities.
- Assistin the development of department specific orientation/competencies and orientation of caregivers.
- Coordinate continuing education, trainingprogramsand caregivers’ development.
- Consult with individuals within the Nursing Institute, Surgical Operations, Infection Prevention,CCFand the communityregardingprofessional practices and caregiver roles.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s Degree inBusiness Administration, Education, HealthcareAdministrationor related field and five years recent sterile processing experience with demonstrated technical and instrument expertise OR an additional six years progressively responsible experience
- Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) that must be maintained
- Dual certification of the CRCST/CSPDT and the CFER/CER required within twenty-four months of hire
- Demonstrated knowledge of AAMI Standards supporting all processes performed in Sterile Processing
- Preceptor training
- Demonstratedexpertisein reprocessing and computer skillsutilizingclinical systems (SPM) and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with surgical instruments, decontamination,sterilizationand high-level disinfection
- Experience with training methods, competencyassessmentsand instructional technology
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and quality assurance measures
- Able to travel to various Cleveland Clinic facilities within the Florida region
Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver:
- Lead technician or supervisory experience
- Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) to develop, manage, and track training programs, ensuring staff competency and regulatory compliance
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Exposure to sterile processing environments, including decontamination and sterilization areas.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- In some locations, ability to move 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $52,270.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $79,727.50
