See the videos below this job description for a look inside our diverse workforce.We are currently seeking a Senior Production Planner to work onsite at our plant in Menlo Park, CA. Please note that this site is currently expected to remain operational for approximately the next 18–24 months as part of a planned business transition strategy. During this period, the role will play an important part in supporting ongoing operations, business continuity, and key organizational initiatives. In this role, you will work in conjunction with your manager to execute focused supply chain solutions which support business objectives, including supply planning, inventory management and project management. You will also partner with Sales/Marketing, Manufacturing sites and regional supply chain to manage product supply and inventory. You will support process improvement opportunities throughout each stage of the product lifecycle, including inventory and obsolescence management, new product launch planning and execution, product rationalization, and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop the Master Production Schedule (MPS) each month optimizing service while constraint by resources.
- Develop level loaded – capacity constrained weekly / daily build schedule in line with MPS and manufacturing constraints adapted to Raw material, labor and equipment availability
- Identify and participate in the resolution of issues by employing strong analytical and planning skills.
- Analyze, develop, and implement long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues and production location decisions in support of business goals.
- Conduct daily / weekly operations calls with manufacturing sites and Global Supply Chain to align on weekly production schedule, explain any capacity/supply constraints and share projection/ recovery plan
- Attend / lead daily tier 2 and 3 at site and supply Chain to provide planning inputs and guidance
- Facilitate monthly S&OP discussion, weekly Sales & Operation Execution with GSC and Mfg to drive service commitments
- Utilize SAP/APO to ensure correct flow of demand signals through the whole value stream and ensure accuracy of build prompts at manufacturing sites
- Actively plan and support new business initiatives, new product launches, product rationalizations, and agility transfers
- Own supply chain service (Build- FG and Subassembly), Backorder, backlog and inventory metrics. Leadership of regular cross-functional metric performance reviews
- Partner with the manufacturing plants, developing projections of service recovery during periods of supply disruption, and taking proactive actions to minimize product availability issues and timely communicate to global regions
- Develop working relationships with planners globally and build a “virtual” team throughout value stream
- Work cross functionally on project teams and develop relationships with Manufacturing, Marketing, R&D, Finance, Engineering, and customer service
- Act as a key resource in monthly IBP supply cycle responsible for site production plan accuracy to requirements, rough cut capacity views and scenario planning.
- Drive operation metrics such net requirements, inventory targets and projections.
- Understand Lean Sigma DMAIC methodology and utilize lean principles and problem-solving methodology to drive continuous improvement in processes leading to service/inventory improvement
- Lead complex projects including optimization of production capacity, agility transfers, balancing global inventory network, improving global service levels, and improving manufacturing/ supply chain efficiency.
- Act as a Change Agent by identifying / solving problems and improving processes.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant Supply Chain experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant Supply Chain experience
Nice to Have
- Experience in supply chain planning and/or inventory, capacity, or operations planning.
- Experience working with / in Manufacturing environment in Medical device or related industry experience
- MBA / Master's Degree
- Bilingual English - Spanish Communication and Business Proficiency.
- Experience using SAP/QAD, or other ERP systems
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint focus)
- APICS (CPIM/CSCP) certification
- Lean Sigma DMAIC green belt certification
- Excellent mathematics/analytics/statistical skills demonstrated through education or professional background
- Strong understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards related End to End Supply Chain concepts
- Ability to assess, analyze, and condense complex data or situations.
- Ability to project possible future outcomes and scenarios based on available data.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
